WANGANUI, Th'-e Day. After having the best of the firot spell and holding Manawatu to 5-all at half time, Wanganui were defeated in a representative Rugby match to-day by 10 points to 8. Manawatu scorod first when J. Finlay crossed the Wanganui line. Just before half-time Culpan scored for Wanganui. In tho second spell McKenzie scored, Finlay converting, giving Manawatu the lead with the score 10 — 5. Wanganui redueed the leeway when Burgess scored in the closing stages. The Manawatu pack livened up considerably and held the lead to finish with two points to spare. J. Finlay, Manawatu, played an outstanding game. The visiting backs jrerie disa^jpoinfcing.
