British Cattle Could Be Increased if More Grass SURVEY OF INDUSTRY

General agficultural administration in Britain whs debated in the House of Commons following a comparative eurvey of outstanding problems by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr W. S. Morrison, who said that the milk seheme, which had saved the industry from collapse, had led to an improvement in the quality and quantity of this vital food. The pig and bacon schemes had also greatly increased home production. The Government was flghting disease by research and would take the plight of the industry dnto account in the negotiation of trade treatiee. Production had increased and there tvas much greater stability in prices. He now aimed at reducing wasteful costs of production. Too little attention had been devoted to grass crop. If that could be increased, as dt eould withdut undue expense by only 15 per cent., the country could support a million more cattle. i "
