Meeting of Waipukurau Branch

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. , The month'ly meeting of tho Waipukurau branch of the Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs J. D. Ormond presiding over the following committee members: — Mesdames W. A. Chambers, H. Hooper, J. W. Harding, M. Joblin, O. R. Moore, L S. f. Bell, E. Broad, I. W. iN. Machie, F. J. Hopkinson, O. Pattison, B. J. McCormick, B. Boys, F. R. McWilliams, J. H. Walker, and the secretary, Miss A. Hobson. Apologies were received from Mesdames G. Gideon, L. Harker and Percy Hunter. The following report for the month of May was submitted by the Plunket Nurse : — Visits to rooms : Waipukurau, adults 168, babies 124, children 52, total 344. Takapau, adults 52, babies 42, children 12, total 105. Porangahau, adults 15, babies 11, children 4, total 35. Visits to homes; Waipukurau 71, Takapau 12, Porangahau 16. New cases: Waipukurau 2, Takapau 2, Porangahau I. Cases under care: Waipukurau 199, Takapau 61, Porangahau 22. Letters written 4, letters received 4. Parcels of clothing have been received from Mrs " J. W. Harding and thanks expressed. Mrs C. R. Moore was appointed to sign cheques with the hon. secretary ad treasurer. Hrs Moore and Mrs Walker were appointed visitors to the rooms for tho ensuing month. Accounts.amounting to £11 13/8 wero .passed for payment. Mrs J. D. Ormond expressed thanks to the members for appointiug her to the position as president, and soliciting the co-operation ' of the committee in carrying out the work for th esociety. She also thanked committee members for th© work they had donc during their term of office. Donations were received from the following with thanks , Mesdames E. D. Todd, B. Boys, L. S. F. Bell, F. R. McWilliams, J. Chalmers, Wa.sb, F. J .Hopkinson, E. -Broad, J. D. Ormond and C. Pattison.
