PATANGATA COUNCIL'S ESTIMAJES

An estimated credif balance of £2792 3/5 as at March 31, 1938, is revealed i na statement prepared by the Patangata County Council showing anticipated receipts and payments for the eiisuing year. Estimated expenditure totals £28,562 12/1, and estimated receipts £31,354 15/6. The council looks forward to a successful year and ratepayers may feel confident of having their interests well looked after. On the expenditure side, the statement shows an estimated outlay of £3500 on plant working expenses, £4737 10/4 by way of interest on loans, and a total of £14,508 12/1 expenses estimated to he incurred in the seven ridings of the county. In regard to revenue, £14,743 10/1 is expected to be received by way of general levy on rates. This is to be gained by a levy of l£d in the pound on tho unimproved value of £2,832,773. Further revenue from rates will be fortlicoming from the Harbour Board and hospital levies. Plant working receipts are estimated to total £5000, and license, heavy traffie and sundry fees £3000. The estimated expenses of the various ridings are as follow : — Eparaima, £3054 17/9; Porangahau, £2882 14/2; Patangata, £1907 14/10 j Oero, £2020 11/11 ; Tamumu, £897 9/7 ; Pourerere, £2420 2/6; Mangatarata, £1325 1/4.
