WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
Meeting of Ongaonga Group 1 At the usual monthly xnecting of tiie Ongaonga Women 's Institute, Mrs. E. Bradley presided over a fair attendance of members. After the singing of tho institute song, correspondence was dealt with. A most enjoyable and iustructivo talk on general institute matters was given by Miss Jull, who was heartily thanked for her excellent address. A refreshing afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Diamond and Spackman, after which a novel competition was won by Miss Wernham. The roll call "Four lines of poetry," was responded to by several members and many fine lines wero quoted. The knitting competition, kindly judged by some visitors, resulted as follows: Adults, iine: Miss Wernham 1; coarse; Mrs. Carr 1 and 2, Miss Wernham 3. Children's, iine: Miss Wernham 1, Mrs. Carr 2, Mrs. Spackman 3; coarse: Mrs. Bell 1 and 2, Mrs. Carr 3. The afternoon closed with the singing of ijie National Anthem.
