Cheaper Electricity in Britain
RUGBY, June 7. The Government have issued an outline of the main proposals now under discussion with local authorities and others for securing the reorganisation of electricity distribution. The pro'posalp follow upon the report of the McGowan Committee. It is suggested electricity commissioners ahould be charged with the duty of xeviewing aU undertakings in each distribution district and preparing a scheme, after consultation with undertakers concerned, for the consolidation of the undertakings into a group or groups with a view to reducing the charges to consumers. ■ - V
