VOTES OF SYMPATHY
« ' * Mrs. E. A. W. Henley and Mr. W. Dinwiddie Reference to the deaths of Mrs E. a. W. Henley and Mr W. Dinwiddie was made at the meeting of the Napier Borough Couueil last ovening by the Mayor, Mr C. O. Morse. Councillors stood in silence as a mark of erspect, and votes of sympathy were passed with the bereaved relatives. "Mrs Henley associated herself with every movement that lent to' the progress .of Napier and the district generally," said Mr Morse. "When we were privileged to say farewell to her when she left for England a few weeks agOj none of us realised that we were sayxng a last farewell. Her work in the epidemie of 1918 was wonderful, and although she suffered a great loss in the loss of her husband, she was able to carry on that work for which she was Be well fitted. ' ' Mr Dinwiddie was prominent in many positions in Napier." continuod the Mayor. "For many years he was connected with the Hawka/s Bay Herald, and has also done service in educajional matters and all othcr activities that led to the betterment of the town and district. Napier will feel dceply the loss of this iine gentlemau. A, vote of sympathy was passed" also with a former councillor, Mr A. Eagloj ton, who recently suffered the loss of i his'wife.
