TAKAPAU, Last Night. . A well attended meeting of the supporters of the Takapau Rugby Queen, Miss Lorna Edgecombe, was held rccontly Mr; W. Hobson was voted to tbe chair and welcomed the delegates from the management committee, Messrs. A. L. McCormick, C. M. Williamsott, R. S. Ricketts, B. L. Wallis. He explained the -reason for the carnival, and said that £100 would be earmarked for the Centrai Hawke s Bay representative players to travel The following general coommittee were appointed: Messrs. R A. Fraser. N. M. Paulsen, N. C. Wylie, O. H. Bjongaard, J P. O'Howd and C. Vigers ; Hatuma representative, Mr. C. Edgecombe ; Otawhao representative, Mr. J. Heald; Makaretu and Ashley Clinton, Mr. W. Johnston ; . ladies' committee, Mesdames Paulsen and Craig. All the stock agents have been asked to arrange for a stock drive. Mr. H. C. Lauder was appointed honorary secretary aud treasurcr. All the officials are now actively engajaed in selling tickets with a great measure of success.
