HASTINGS HARRIERS
Trail Laid Over Havelock Hilis On Saturday the vyeckly run of the Hastings Harrier Glub was held at Havelock North, starting from St. Andrew's Sunday School. The trail led by way of Duart road straight up to the hills, and harriers imitated the nimble mountain goat both in the journey up the h'illsides around tho Peak and in the exhilarating dash ddwn again. "Approximately six miles were covered, and the run-in along Maia road to the finishing point resulted as follows: — Slow pack. — B. Tucker 1, E. Smith 2, E. Heaton 3. Fast pack. — G. Eeady 1, H. E. Taylor 2, J. Dyer 3. The junior pack was led by B. Andersen. Two inter-club fixtures are scheduled for next week. First, on Wednesday, King's Day, the Napier club holds its round-the-town race, and then, on Saturday next, the big harrier rally is being held at Dannevirke. In both these events the Hastings club will be strongly represented. The weekly walk to the Peak which was to be lield next Wednesday evening will now take place on Monday evening, beginning at seven o'elock from the Hastings G.P.O. Last week the Thursday division of the club lield a run from Windsor 1'ark. The trail began along Grovc roadj branching into Karamu road, which was followcd to tho Karamu Settlement. The return trip was via Karamu creek through an OTchard on to George's road and so back to the park The run-in resulted in a win for A. de Frere, with T. Hanley in second position and J. O'Shea tliird. * Next Thursday the run will be held from Windsor Park again.
