Meeting at Waipawa

WAIPAWA, Last -Night. The fortniglxtly meeting of Loyal Abbotsford Lodge, . Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held in the Lodgeroom last evening, the N.G. Sister B. Weston presiding over an attendance of some forty members. Visitors were also present from Loyal Ruahine Lodge and were welcomed by the N.G. and lodge honours aceorded. The officers-elect were installed by L.M. I3r.o. E. C. Kingston, assisted by Director Bro. N. J. McKay and P.L>. G.M, Bro. E. Waite, as l'ollow : — N.G. Bro N. MacPherson; V.G. Bro. M. Fair; K. S. Bro. F. W- Holt; R.S. N.G. fcsister B. Kingston; L.S. N.G. Bro. C. Whyman ; L.S. V.G. Sister' W. Fair; R.S. V.G. Bro. L. Cossar; Warden, Bro. W. Harris; Guardian, Bro H. Mustcbin; Conductors, Sister s Harris and Carson ; I.P. N.G. Sister B. Weston. It was resolved that the name of the retiring I.P. N.G. Bro. J. Bosley, be placed on the merit board. Bro. Waite returned thanks on behalf of the visitors, and read to the lodge some very interesting figures Tioncerning the financial position of Manchester Unity lodges in Hawke's Bay. An invitation was received from Loyal Forest Honie Lodge to attend their Jubilee celebrations at Norsewood on June 14 and 23, and the matter was left in the hands of the secretary and N.G.

The newiy-mstalled otticers returned thanks for their election, and there being no further business the meeting was closed. Members had -invited a number of friends to be present at the conclusion of business and a most enjoyable evening was spent with dancing, music being provided by Mrs Meta (piano) and Mr L. Liddetl (banjo). A delightful supper was served by the sociai committee.
