Barnard, when they were chistened in Napier on SatUfday. The twins are Elsie and Yalenie Gale, of Westshore, Napier. The chttstOfiing ceremdny was performed by the Rev. W. Mills. Mr. Barnard hae uiidertaken td watch the babies' welfatd. Some time ago when Mr, Barnard was dpening a bazaar at Westshore he learned that twins had bdeii born that day to Mr, and Mrs. Gale and that their mother had died. Mr. Bafnafd offered dt be the godfather to the babies and the offer was accepted. Mr. Barnard 's official duties as Speaker of the House of Rfepresentatives in Wellington} however, necessitated a postponeirient of the christening ceremon'y uhtil last. Saturday.
