Running no better than twelfth to the half-mile, Boomeraug then made a fast .orward move and was sixth into the •traight, where Royal Dance and Te ilai were setting the pace together in front of De Friend and Valmint. At the distance De Friend led from Valmint, Boomerang and King Rey, who were challenging strongly and in the flnal dash Boomerang came through to win by half a head from Valmint, who boat De Friend by a head.
