OUTSIDE TEAMS COMPETING

Great enthusiasm surround3 the Hawke 's Bay Hockey Association 's annual 11-a-side tournament for men's and women 's teams (sendor and jumor grades) to be held at Nelson Park, Hastings, on Wednesday next. Entries nave already come to hand from Palmerston North (two men's teams), Dannevirke, Wairoa, and Norsewood, and when entries close at 5 p.m. to day, it is anticipated, all previous records of nominations will have been exceeded. All teams from the Napier and Hastings association will be competing and are keenly looking forward to testing their qualities against the strong visiting elevens. The first games will begin at 9.30 p.m. sharp, and with nearly 50 teams competing for snpremacy dn the different classes it will require over 100 games to sort out the section winners for the finals, which are expeeted to be played about 4.30 p.m.
