FILM ROLE FOR FORMER NAPIER GIRL
Lloyd Hughes will have one of New Zealand's loveliest girls as one of his leading ladies in Cinesound's new production, "Lovers and Luggers." She is Elaine Hamill, formerly a nurse in the Napier Public Hospital. Elaine, who made her fllm debut in "Grandad Budd," is now the most photographed girl in Sydney, and, besides being famous as a J. C. Willaimson star, she is also Sydney 's leading mannequin. In "Lovers and Luggers" she will play the role of "Stella Baff, " a beautiful English girl. She is at present being "glamorised" at Cinesound studios for this part, and recent photographs show a remarkable resemblance to Myrna Loy. A wonderful fllm wardrobe is being designed for her by the studio designer, Miss Mavis Eipper. Miss Shirley Ann Eiehards will play the role of the Australian girl in "Lovers and Luggers," and she can also claim an interest in New Zealand, as her mother, Mrs. Marion Eiehards, is the daughter of Mr. Bradshaw Dive, a well-known resident of Eltham, Taranaki.
