■•-*■!» I ~ - Late Mr William Dinwiddie Th.e funeral of the late Mr William Dinwiddie took place at the Park Island Oemetery yesterday morniiig. There was a very large cortege, some thii'ty cars following the femains Of one who, in a, quiet way, had left an andelible impressioa upon the eoinmunity, Bepresentatives of the Hawke 'g Bay Education Board, Napier Secondary Education Board, of which the' late Mr Dinwiddie had beenchairmafi, of the Hawke's Bay Children JS Homes, of whlch he had been a trusteey of the Napier Borough Couneil, Napier Harbour Board, and every other publie body in the distl'ict were present, aa well as menibers of the legal profession and the business community, all being eloquent if silent testimony to the high esteem in which Mr Dinwiddie was held. As the. cortege moved along Seapoint road, pupils of the Napier Boys' Hdgh Schbol, aceompamed by the Schooimasters," flanked the roadway. From the late Mr Dinwiddie 's feaidence the. cortege proceeded to the Park Island CeMetery, where a cordon of pupils from the High Sehool was again drawn up. The service at the graVeside was conducted by the Re>v. D. N. MaeDiarmid, who paid a tribute to the lif«tdme of service which Mr Dinwiddie had offered the community. As showing ihe esteem in which the late Mr Dinwiddie was held by his many. friends a large coilection of beautiful wreaths Was heaped on the coffin. Pupils from Erance House were. also present at the graveside. The pall-bearers were Messrs B. T. Dinwiddie, G. Eochfort, E, Nesbitt, K Bimson, J. H. EdmundsoU and T. W 'Williama.
