The political correspondent of the Australian Associated Press learns that Mr Bingham, the American Ambassador, conveyed to Mr Lyons, Australian Prime Minister, a written invitation from Mr Roosevelt for Mr Lyons to visit Wasliington eu route to Australia, bnt Mr Lyons expressed regret at his inability to accept. It is believed that Mr Roosevelt desired to discuss several questions, including Mr Lyons's Ppcific-pact proposal. Meanwhile, the Imperial Conference has appointed a sub-committee of experts to examine the Pacific Pact. It is gathered tbat' Mr Savage has intijnated that, New Zealand favours the idea and is ready to attend any -conference for the purpose.
