(Eeceived 4, 10.45 a.m.) NOETHAMPTON, June 3. i ' New Zealand took all the honours in i the second day of the cricket match against Northamptonshire, forGing the county to struggle hard to avoid a fol-low-on and then showing some of the most satisfying "'batting form of tho tour. Dunning bowled swingers excellently, once having four wickets for 18 — three caught in the slips and ono stumped through the ball rebounding from the wicketkeeper. James saved the innings from total collapso, showing form comparable with that he displayed in New Zealand. He drove with great power,- hitting a dozen fours. Gallichan's slows bothered the batsmen.. Donnelly was used to break a troublesome partnership. Eoberts was persevering but met with little fortune. The fielding was onthusiastic, good catches being taken ,by Weir, Lamason and Tindill. New Zealand rattled on runa in tbe second innings, batting for under threo hours. Kerr was gliding and cutting the f ast bowlers beautifully, , occasionaUy driving and hooking powerfully. He hit nine fours in a brilliant display. The consistent Wallace again played a workmanlike innings, hittig five fours, aud Carson, who found the form he had lost sice the first match, heavily punished all the bowlers, hitting five fours and seven twos and being especially severe on the leg side. Page confidently assisted to add 60 in the last 30' miuutes in failing light. Scores: — N OETHAMPTON SHIEE.
