Good Profit on Last Meeting

ELSTHORPE, Last Night. The Sports Club held a meeting in the hall on Saturday night. Mr Wilder, president, presided over a small attendance. The balance-sheet showed a good profit on the last sports meeting, which was considered very eatisfactory seeing the weather was so wet; had the day been fine there would have been a record meeting. The secretary's report gave great credit to the stewards, who carried out their dutied in a very excollent manner, The horse events were well patronised, there being as many as 25 entries in some of the field eventp. Mr A. §mith is to be congratulated on winning the cup out right. Mr A. Smith Bas donated another cup for the field events, and the secrotary was asked to convey the club's congratulations to him and also to thank him for the donation. This i« the second cup that Mr A. Smith has won. The club voted £3 3/- to the K'ing George V. Memorial Fund. There was eome .discussion about a'tering the day for future meetings, as there appears to be a possibilily of Saturday being a universal holiday. TLis matter will come up again .it the annual meeting in October
