Meeting of Waipukurau Branch

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. On Tuesday afternoon the usual monthly meeting of the Central Hawhe's Bay branch of the. Women's Division of the Farmers' TJnion was held in the Women's Rest rooms, Waipukurau, Mrs G. L. Jamieson presiding over the following members : — Mesdames T. Groome, A. D. Wallace, T. Black, H. F. Norris, J. A. Grant, M. Tansey, A. Healey, G. F. Kennedy ; Miss A. Beachen, Green and the secretary, Miss E. Grant. 'Apologies were tendered from Mesdames T. Geenty, E. Cole, E. S. Jannett and F. Phillipson. Mrs A. D. Wallace, jvho was elected president at the annual meeting held last month, subject to her approval, did not wish to accept office, and Mrs T. Groome Vas^ unanimously rc-elected president. Thiree new members were nominated — Mesdames F. Hewitt, A. Judd, O'Dowd1 and Miss Diamond. Mrs J. C. Nicholls was elected delegate to attend the annual Division meeting, which. is to be held in Wellington. A most interesting report of the provincial executive meeting, which was held in Hastings recently, was given by the delegate, Miss Beachen. Mra 3 F. Wilson's resignation as treasurer was received with regret, and it was proposed that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mrs Wjlson, thanking her for the yoeman service rendered to the Livision during her term of office. It was also proposed that Ietters of congratulation be sent to Mrs Joll, who had been presented with the Coronation medal; to Mrs Wilson, of Piro Piro, and Mrs A. Ward, of Lumsden, both of these members of the Divison having receivea the O.B.E. After the business was finxshed afternoon tea was served by Mesdames T. Black and A. D. Wallace.
