TRAFFIC BREACHES
Unregistered Trailers CASE BR0UGHT AS WARNING Prosecutions against motorists again occupied a considerable amonnt of time in tlie Hastings Magistrate's Court fchjs morning. A number of.cases iVerc brougbt before Mr. J./Millor, S.M., by Mr. • H. R'. Li. Semple, Main 'Higli ways Board inspector, and Mr. D. Manu, Hatings borough iraffic inspector. For using .unregistered motor vehieles W. E. Hasler and William Mackrell Murton * were convicted and diseharged . The cliarges arose from the use of unregistered trailers bearing saw-benches, and it was pointed out by Mr. Manu that the* cases had been brought as a waraing. It^vas only since September 1 that these trailers had been required to be registered. Hasler, who was represented. by Mr. W. Selwyn-Averill, pleaded not guilty. Murton pleaded guilty. Charged with parking a car too far froin the kerb, Walter V. Pederson pleaded- guilty and was fined 10/-, "with costs 10/-. . James Browfi, for operating a passenger vehicle with an ineffective fire extinguisher, pleaded guilty, and was fined 10/-, with "costs 10/-. Pleading guilty , to allowing a horse to be at lai'ge on the ihaia NapierPalniefston North highway, George Price. was fined 5/-, with costs "28/-. Another charge arising from operating a motor-car without a warrant of fitness was brought by Mr. Mann. Gordon . R. Thompson was fined Bl, with costs 12/-. Pleading guilty to .overtaking a vehicle at. an intersection, Artlmr Howden Oliver was fihed £1, with costs 12/-. . Operaciug a heavy-traffic vehicle without the required ltcence c-ost Wilson's Nurseries 10/-, with costs 11/-.
