Though Signor Mussolini returned to Bome and though 14 Italian warships axe assenihled at Naples to await developments, fnoOgh the Duce is agreeable to coordination of Italian and German operations and though Herr Hitier Is reinforcing his fleet in Spanish waters, the situation is neverthelesB eased, at least superficially. Germany is professing her contentment for the time being with her retaliation for the bombing of the Deutschland, the death of whose 56th victim is now reported. There is a general f eeling that portentous matters are engaging the attention of the British Cabinet, though nothing is disclosed regarding the matter.
