SUCCESSFUL BRIDGE PARTY AT WOMEN'S CLUB
. About 100 bridge players were present at the Hastings Women's Community Club last evening when a very successful bridge party was arranged to assfst the fund for tlxe furnisliing of the new club rooms. The large and comfortable room lends itself admirably for such a party, and last niglit it was decorgted with wall baskets of golden chrysanthemums and autumn foliage. On the stag© table was a howl of lovely iceland poppies. Mrs T. H. Lowry, club president, who wore a gown of black chift'on with insets of cliantilly Jace, expressed pleasure at seeing such a large number present. She thanked Mrs H. M. Campbell, who was hostess for the evening, for having all present to be her guests at supper and presented her with a shoulder spray of cyclamen. Mrs Campbell wore black chiffon velvet with a silver fox fur. Mrs H. M. Bishop, leader of the bridge circle, was thanked for making all the arrangements for the party. blue cloque had insets o£ net in the full sleeves. The prize-winners were: Contract mystery number (ladies), Mrs W. G. Stead, (men) Mr W. Mackenzie ; auction mystery number (ladies), Mrs T. H. Lowry, (men) Mr Jf. McLeod. Donations were received from Mrs Faulkner, Mrs C. A. Hendry, Mrs Elliott, Mrs George Davies, Mrs G. C. Glenny, Miss Chambers and Mr Slater.
