Blomfield Beats Kirilinko

(By Telegraph-

WELLINGTON, Last Night. By a points decision Lofty Blomfield beat the Russian wrestler, Matros -Kirilinko, in a professional heavyweight bout at the Town Hall to-night. The Russian, who is a colourful and clever matman, had the best of the early rounds, repeatedly worrying Blomfield with short-arm scissors and gained a fall by this means in the fifth round. From then on, however, Blomfield set the pace, and in the sevonth he tripped Kirilinko, developed a toe-hold and rose suddenly to his feet, amid the plaudits of the large crowd, with Kirilinko sprawling entwined in the toils of Blomfield 's dreaded octopus clamp. Blomfield had much the better of the final round. On hearing the decision Kirilinko strove vainly to address the crowd and stamped round the ring waving his arms.
