LIVE SHELLS FOUND

Excitement on Station

fFrom

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Two live shells recently discovered on "Dundee," a farm property owned by Alr A. . W. Elliott, caused much excitement among employees on the station. It is thought that there might be more to be found, and if such is the cose, they might be a source of danger when scrub is to be burned. Between February and May of last year an artillery corps was in camp at Waipukurau, engaging in firing practice, when live shells were used. Shortiy before lasi Christmas a live shell was found and was deliberately exploded. Two more have now been found, and Mr Ellmtt has not yet decided what to do about them. These were discovered when employees were scrub-cutting not long ago, and it is believed that more are in existence on neighbouring properties.
