Norway to Carry Domestic Training to Remote Areas
OLSO, Norway. — If a woman cannot afford the expenditure of time and money in attending one of Norway 's domestic training schools — no matter. The Norwegian Government is so fully convinced of the value of properly run homes that it has adopted a comprehensive scheme for the promotion of domestic training throughout the country. Included in its programme is the estSblishmeht of a special section in the Ministry of Agriculture whieh will deal with every question which bears upon homes and home-workers. A woman — Miss Dina Larsen— has been appointed head of this new section of Government and, equipped as she is with a wide experience in the ways and manners of home-keepers, she is making it possible for everyone, wherever they happen to live, to benefit by the good things she has to tell them. Tlyoughout Norway, training centres are to be set up but — possibly more useful still — itnerant teachers are to travel, carrying with them expert knowledge which they will hand on to women even in the most remote discricts. Nutrition research is to be under taken by specialists. Experiment in regard to technical equipment is to be raade. Household "rationalization" is to be explained to all who wish to learn about it and to put it into practice.
