TAKAPAU DOG TRIALS
High Standard Set (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAKAPAU,- This Day. The Takapau Dog Trial Club'o u'nnual meeting is now drawing to a conclusion. Held in excellent weather, this popular function has again been a great success, having attraeted a large nuniber of entries. Great credit for the organisation is due to the president, Mr W. J. Smith, who has devoted a great deal of time and hard work to the
club's affairs. Mr Smith has been very ably assisted by the secretary, Mr V. Heyward, and the members of the committee. The judge, Mr A, Sfead, of Longlands, Hastings, commenting on the work of the competitors, said that the leading dogs were of an exceptionally high standard and the first and second dogs in the short head, particularly, put up outstandiqg runs. The points in all ,classes showed the exceptionally high standard of the work. The president, Mr W. j. Smith, said he wished to express great appreciation of the support accorded the club by competitors and public this year. Many of the competitprs had come long distances to attend, the two outstanding cases proba-bly being one from Pongaroa and one from the Waikato. Yesterday 's results were:— OPEN LONG HEAD. J.
