Suffers Injuries When Hit By Motor Lorry As a result of being knecked down by a motor-lorry driven by Mr George Dudley Cowan in Karamu road, Hastings, about 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday, Mrs Martha Emma Eussell was admitted to the Hastings Soldiers' Memorial Hospital with sca!p wounds and abrasions. , A Miss McKay was also tak«sn to hospital on Wednesday suffering from concussion due to a fall while skating. The accident occurred near the corner of Karamu and Ellison roads. Mrs Russell was erossing the road at the time. Earlier this week an old lady of 92 years of age, Mrs Betsy Purvis, who resided at St. Aubyn street, West, Hastings, died as the result of a fall as she was leaving the bathroom. Mrs Purvis died before a doctor arrived, but in view of her great. age the doctor was able to give a certifieate of the cause of death and an inquest; was unnecessary.
