Fifth Attempt To Be Made This Summer OTHER EXPEDITI0NS

CALCUTTA, May 6. The fifth attempt by a German expedition to cliinb Nanga Parbat, the 26,650 ft. peak in the western Himalayas, will be made this summer by a party under the leadership of Herr Karl Wien, Profe'ssor of Geography in Munich TJniversity. The other climbers are Herr Peter Muellritter, who will be responsible for film of the attempt; Herr Adolf Goettner of Munich; Dr. Hans Hartmann of Berlin; and Dr. Guenther Hepp of Munich, who will be the medical expert. All have taken part ja previous expeditions to the Himalayas. Four others with mountaineering experience in other parts of the world — Professor O. Troll of Berlin TJniversity, Dr. TJlrieh Luft, Herr Martin Preffer and Herr Bert Fankhaeuser — will complete the party. ' Two parties from the 1st Battalion The East Surrey Begiment are to make expeditions in the Himalayas this summer. The first, with Lieutenant E. G. A.
