BODY ON NAPIER BEACH
Inquest Opened An inquest into tbe death of. Jobn pedersqn, late of Oslo, Norway, an accountant and seaman, was opened before the district coroner, Mr .T. Miller, S.M., in tbe Napier Courthouse this morning. Deceased was found On tbe beach near tbe Napier Breakwater yesterday morning witb a gashed wrist; a knife was found beside tbe body. ' Evidence was given by Christian Alfred Larsen, of Napier^ waterside worker, wbo said tbat be bad known tbe deceased for some weqks. He bad come recently from Norway, and bad £60 in bis possession wben be arrived. He was also expeeting a furtber remittance. Altbougb be bad had to leave Norway for health reasons, following a nervous brqakdown, tbe deceaeed bad never mentioned suicide in tbe presence of witness, and appeared to have no reason for committSng suicide. At this stage Sergeant R. Carmody, wbo bad cpnciucted tbe inquiry, asked for an adjournment, wbicb was granted
