Large Entries at Takapau

WAIPUKURAU, Tbis Day. . Becanse of tbe large number of entrieB in class one, numbering 60 in all, tbe Takapau Sheep-Dog Trial Club has not yet been able to complete tbis Bection, and competitors' dogs were still sbowing their prowess when tbe HeraldTribune went to Press to-day. The trials, lield in ideal weather, are'proving a most popular function, and tbe social side, as represented by last niglit's dance at Takapau, could not bav© been better organised. In conjunction with tbe trials tbere was a competition for best quality boggets, results of wliich were as follow Best type of hogget calculated to iffiprove tbe tiock.— W. G. Morton 1, N. Waldron 2, Mrs E. R. White 3. Best lioggett for wool.— Mrs E. R. White 1, F. Severinsen 2, C. Severinsen 3. Tbe judge of these two competitions was Mr C. R, Edgecombe, of Hatuma, wbo after announcing tbe results yesterday delivered a discourse on • tbe judging and gave a demonstration, Both were deeply appreciated.
