Mr. N. A. Avery, of Havelock North, returned by tbe Tamaroa from a trip to the Old Country. Cr. A. G. Nolan bas been re-elected chairman of the Wairoa County Council for tbe 15th year in succession. Mr. H. Anderson, of tbe staff of the Bauk of New South Wales, Haatintfs, left on Tuesday on a trip to America and tbe Old Country. Mr. W. Beveridge and Miss P. Beveridge, of Opapa, left tbis morning for .tbe Power— Moore wedding at Cambridge. Dr. H. G. Whitebead, bacteriologlst at tbe Dairy Reseavcb Instituto, Palmerston Nortb, bas left Wellington to represent- New Zealand at tbe eleventb world dairy congress, to be held a? Berlin in August. Messrs J. McGoldrick, H. Roberts and W. J. Clark, members of the Wairoa Bowling Club, have decided to he present at "tlie bowling tournament to be held at jSuva. The party is to sail from Auckland qu July 15. Oanon T. Fielden Taylor, Chaplain to tbe Forces, who was seriously wounded in the Gallipoli campaign, is at present in Lewisham Hospital, Wellington. His condition is seriQus and remaina unchanged. Lieutenant-Colonel W. W. Clemesha, formerly of the Indian Medical Service, who intends to make bis bome in North Auckland, bas arrived from Sydney. Colonel Clemesha was in charge of medical services in German East Africa during tbe Great War, and recently was direetor of tbe malaria cQntrol scbema at Bandarawela, Ceylon,. Mr, T. Mason-Chambers was reelected chairman of the Te Mata Park Trust Board at tbe board 's quarterly meeting. On tbe motion of Mr. F. E. Smith, seconded by Mr. W. H. M. Diamond, g'ratilication was expressed at the reported improvement in Mr, Mason Chamber's health, and it was hoped that be would be well enough to pres-.de at tbe next meeting.
