The first of a series of house-to-house "500" card partics was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs W. H. Manning last evening. These parties are held every year during the Winter months. There was a large crowd present last evening, and a most enioyable time was spent. The winners of the cards were: — Ladies, M'iss Thomson 1, Mrs Thomson 2; gentlemen, Mr Keong" 1, Mr Manning 2. The lucky number was won by Mrs Harvey. The next party will be held at Mr« G, H. Smith 's, Tukituki.
