MRS. M. W. MACFARLANE

One of Napier' s earliest residents in the person of Mrs Mary Wilson Mao farlane passed away- at Kumeroa on Sunday last at the age of 87 years. The late Mrs Macfarlane, who was the daughter of Mr Samuel Begg, one of Napier's earliest settlers, and her husband, were associated with the early musical life of Napier, which she continued for inany years as a teacher of the piano. Many, including ex-pupils of the Hukarere Stehool, will remember her as a capable and understanding tutor. She is survived by a grown-up family of five, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
