Central H.B. .Board's £10,000 Prograinme

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Over 30 miles of new line are involved in the £10,000 electricity extension programme to be put in hand next week by the Oentral Hawke 's Bay Electric Power Bo^rd. Reticulation will be taken to many back-block settlera who hitherto have not had the advantage of electric lighting. A feature of this work will be the use for the first time in the board's history of the new, locally-made concrete poles. Clerk of worlcs for this job is. Mr j S. M. Porter, late of Gisborne. He hasj had extensive experience in Power | Board reticulation work. Sixteen Bettlers at Springhill, 15 at outer Tamumu, two at Burnside and others in various parts of the board's large district will have electricity under this programme. The woik is expected to take at least eight months to complete.
