WAIPAWA REGENT
"Dodsworth" — To-night A powerful social drama, adapted from the novel by Sinclair Lew.is and produced for United Artists by Samuel Goldwyn, under tho title "Dodsworth," will be screened at the Waipawa Regent to-night at 8 o'clock. The film is iifted far above the standards of ordinary productions by the brilliant character acting of the principals, who inc'ude Walter Huston, in the name part, Ruth Chatterton as Mrs Dodsworth, Mary Astor as the woman who eventually wins Dodsworth's loyalty and affection, and Paul Lukas and David Nivgn it) the other roles. Rnth Chatterton, 1'amous for her many sophistieated roles, given wbat many believe to be the outstanding portrayal of her eareer in a part which ealJs for a coniplete feversal of her own individuality. Walter Huston, as Samuel Dodsworth, seems to be tlie livinp embodixnent of the man Sinclair Lewis made famous iu this analysis of tlie doting Ameriean liusband, overmastering in business ability, yet boyishly incapable of controlling and directing a spoilt wife who did not know when she was well otf. Tlie supporting programme includes Walt Disuey's magnificent colour cartoon, "Mickey's Grand Opera."
