INSPECTION OF COUNTY
Minister and Counciliors A further inspection of the Hawke'i Bay county was undertaken yesterday by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. .Parry, and his staff In company with the ehairman of the County Council, Mr F. B. Logan, and Crs. E. H. Beamish, C. C. Smith, P. Ericksen and M. Chambers, and the county engineer, the party travelled as far as Euripaponga, the boundary of the Hawke's Bay and Rangitikel counties, returning for an inspection o| the Crownthorpe settlement roads* Following a short stay at Hastinge they continued to Pakowhai and visited the river works there. This morning the Minister will inspect the river works at the Ngaruroro before continuing to Wellington . An inspection of the Ngaruroro riv-er-diversion scheme was made thi# morning by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. -W. E. Parry, in company with Mr O. Lassen, ehairman of the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board, and Mr G. Rochfort, consulting engineer to the board. The Minister spent the greater part of the morning inspecting the work in progress and afterwards said that he was greatly impressed with the complete and thorough way in which the task was being undertaken. . Earlier in the day the Minister was taken round the Marewa block by the Mayor of Napier, Mr O. O. Morse and the Hon. W. E. Barnard, M.P. Taradale and Greenmeadows were visited on the way to Hastings, and the Minister left early this afternoon on hia return to Wellington.
