BEEKEEPERS' INTERESTS
Annual Meeting of H.B. Branch The annual meeting of the Hawke's Bay bi'anch of the National Beekeepers' Association was held in the Chamber of Commerce room, Hastings. Apologies for absence were reeeived from Mr L. Biesterer, apiary instructor, and Slr A. W. Lowe, jun., whos expressed their regret at not being able to attend. The annual report disclosed a sound financial position and a substantial inciease in membersbip. Several lectures and field days were held during the .vear. The lioney section at the Autumn Show, it was reported, had been well supported with a good quality of honey. This indicated increasing interest in this direction. It was hoped that this section of the show be even darger next year and that moro entries would bo sent in from other districts. It W8s also hoped that next year the association would again stage a commercial display stand of honey and honey products. lh*> success of the various activities during the year under review had been due to a great extent to the co-operation of the association with Mr L. Riesterer, apiary instruetor. Certain matters concerning the in. dustry were discussed and renn'ts were decided upon to be presented at the forthcoming JDominion conference? which will be held in Wellington next month. Miss D. M. Dalgliesh was elected^ delegate to the conference. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Mr J. N. Walker; vice-president, Mr A. Lowe; hon. auditor, Mr W. H. Ashcroft; hon. secretary, Miss D. M. Dalgliesh; committee, Messrs W. J. C. Ashcroft, N. Donkin, J. W. Laking, H. Shepherd, W. H. Ashcroft, .V.' Shephqrd ind Ji F,, Tear^ ' M
