The many friends of Mr Garf Naylor will regret to learn that he is at present seriously ill at Royston Hospital. Mr A. Crombie, Hastings, left by the .mail train this morning for Auckland. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, who has been in Hawke's Bay since Wednesday returned to Wellington this afternoon. ^Miss M. Dawkins, representing the Wood Fibre Flower Oo., is on a business visit to Hawke's Bay. While in Hastings she is the guest of Mrs A. H. Pope, Townshend street. Mr H. H. Wylie, of Napier, secretary and manager of the Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board, has left for §ydney by the Awatea to arrange for future supplies of poles to the board. Mr Henry Tozer,. M.A., travelling secretary ot the Methodist Men's Bible Glass movement, is spending a few days in Hastings and will conduct a week-end retrcat at Haumoana in eonHection with the Bable classes of Napier and Hastings. Tlie Attorney-General, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, will be arriving in Napier tliis evening from Wellington to attend a, dinner t0 be given by the Hawke's Bay Law Society at the Hawke g Bay Club. The function will also be attended by the Chief Justice, oar Michael Myers. Mr feeton Porter, formerly a member of tho Poverty Bay Electric Power Board's engmeeriiig staff, has been appointed clerk of works to the C'entiul idawke's Bay board; He was appointed last year .to the Tararua Power Board's engineering stalf, with headquarters at Eketahuna, and as a result of his Jatest appojntment will reside in Waipukurau.
