HASTINGS WRESTLING
Forsgren and Richards The wrestling contest which is to be staged in Hastings next Friday night will mark the lirst local appearance this season of Jack Forsgren, the Oanadian champion, of whoin enthnsiasta could not see too much last' vear. Forsgren will be endeavouning to have his revenge on liay Richards, the big and povverful wrestler from Nebraska, who has secured a decision against him in tliis country. Forsgren is the type of wrestler who never faiils to please-the public, as his performances are marked by a variety of features which interest and ex-cite the spectatore. Since he left New Zealand towards the latter end of last season he has had many big matches in the North-Western and Paeific Coast States, having beaten Pat Fraley, who won a major tournament in Yancouver, Fraley subsequently accounting for Vincent Lopez, who was formerly a claimant of the world bitle. Shortly before he left for New Zealand, Forsgren made quick work of Paul Boesch, who was incapacitated by one of the Canadian 's devastating Boston. crabs, During the past few weeks Forsgren has been adding to the popularity he achieved last year and has demonstrated that he is in particularly fine fettle. Richards, like Forsgren, is about 6ft. in height and weighs in the vicinity of 17st. Having lcarnt his wrestling from the great Joe Stecher, he is a master of scissors holds and can use the short-arm scissors in a manner which has not previously been demonstrated in New Zealand, but the, flying tackle and drop-kick are his foremost aids for a fall.
