BRITISH MUSIC SOCIETY
The singing group of the Brdtislx Music Society met recently at the home of Mts Hugh Baird, York street. The evgning's programme included a study of the lives and a brief rgsume of the compositions of eaeh, of the composers Baeh, Haydn and Beethoven, with particular reference to voeal music. Each composer was taken in chronologdcal order, the compositions of each being preceded by a short discourse read by Miss "Williams. The following contributed te the programme:— Baeh? Solo, "Fall Asleep, Ye Cares and Troubles/' Miss Steele. Haydn: Solo, "My Mother Bidl Me Bind My Hair, " Miss Joyce Symonds; solo, "The Spirit Song, " Miss Laurel Curnie; duet, "Trust in Friendshjp," Misses Symonds and Steele; recitation, "And Gold Said," and aria, ■ s With Yerdure Clad, ' Miss Delcie Williams.
