CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. "The baneful influence of the trade union boss on rural industry must be fought to the last ditch,"' said the .annual report presented to .the KUrth Cauterbury district of the New Zea>'land Earmers ' Union. ' ' .The Agriculture Workers' Act was passed to give effect to an agreement made witn the Minister of Labour after many discussions with representatives of the Farmers' Union and the dairy farm•rs," said the report. The Minister insisted on laying down certain wages and conditions for, dairy farm. "Following on this a further agreeimeut has been made, and an order has been gazetted adding all other agricull.tural workers not already under awards and agreements. The employers' representatives were successful in having left out of the agreement the classification of workers, limitation of kours and compulsory unionisin. "The agreements were aetually forced on to the farmers' representatives, as the only alternative was an award of the Court.
