FARMERS' UNION TO HOLD A CONFERENCE
Both the women and men of southern Hawke's Bay are working with enthusiasm in- connection with the InlerProvincial Conference of the Farmers' Union,, .and-the reception and ball to be held in the Drill Hall, Danenvirke, on Wedncsday, May 26. ' The Women's Division conference will also be held at the same time in the Concert Cliamber on May 27. The townspeople as well as farmers are doing everything possible to make the reception and hall on Wednesday a great success, and everyone will be welcome. At this ball a large number of town and country folk will wecome delegates and their wives from the provincial districts of Wellington, Wairarapa, Manawatu, Hawke's Bay, Poverty Bay, Wairoa, Wanganui, Makara-Hutt. The conference and ball committee are to be honoured witih the presence of the Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. P. Fraser, and he will also address the conference at some length during the proceedings. Sir. Alfred Itansom will also be present. Mr J. Livingston, president of the southern Hawke's Bay provincial district, is at the liead of the ^rrangements for the conference, and Mrs Livingston is the organising secretary for the ball and reception.
