SCOTTISH WEDDING AT WAITAHORA RECENTLY
KERR — HARVEY The wedding was solemnised on Tuesday at the home of the bride's parents, of Mabel, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J. McL. Harvey, Waitahora and James Wilson, second son of Mrs Kerr, of Milton road. Napier. The Eev. J. H. Starnes officiated. The bride wore a gown of parcliment velvet, cut on classical lines, a circlet or orange blossom holding the tulle veil in plaee. She carried a* sheaf of cream chrysanthemums and f reezias. The bride was attended by Miss .R. McGibbon, whose gown was of apricot silk velvet, with circlet of flowers, and she carried a muff. Nancy and Betty Jackson, nieces of the bride, were flower girls, and wore powder blue velvet Victorian f rocks, and also carried muffs. Mr W. Kerr, br other of the bridegroom, was best man. The bride's mother wore a black floral ensemble, with hat to match, and carried a'posy of autumn tints. In a buge marquee erected on the lawn the wedding breakfast was held, a particularly large gathering of the clans participatingj real highland hospitality being a feature, Highland music was dispensed by Piper W. Harvey of Masterton, who played the married couple to the marquee. The usual toasts were lionoured and Messrs G. Buchanan, R. J. Macdonald and S. Mitehell all paid tributes to the eterling Scottish qualities.of Mr and Mis Harvey, Mr T. B. Jackson suitably rqplying on their behalf, Dancing and merry-making in traditional highland frshion was kept up until the early hours of the morning. The bride's going away dress was a brown costume with brown fur, hat, shoes and stockings to match. The future home of Mr and Mrs Kerr wi|l be at Motea.
