This morning the King received in audienee Priuce Chichibu,, of Japan, Who presented to his Majesty the collar ; of the Supreme Order of the Cbrysau- ; themum couferred upon him by the. , Emperor of Japan. i In making the presentation, Prince 1 Chichibu said that the Emperor had charged him to give an assurance of his ardent desire to maiutain aud further strengthen the traditional ties of amity between Japan and Grealt Britain. In his reply, the Xing said that this sentiment wOuld find a ready echo in Britain, and that it would be his con- j stant endeavour to maintain and de- j velop friendly relations between the i two countries in every way within his power. Prince Chichibu also presented to the Queen the Order of the Precious Crown, first class.
