TIMARU, This Day. The South Canterbury Jockey Club 's winter meeting opened at Washdyke today under favourable conditions. The track is in good order, although holding after recent rain. The attendance is good. Results: — 6 Levels Hurdlea. — 2/2 HUNTING BAG (A. Stove) 1, 8/10 Last Link 2, 1/1 Giggleswick 3. All started. Won by a head, third horse four lengths hack. Time, 2.49. • Claremont Handicap. — 8/2 DOUBLE GIFT (J. Jennings) 1, 9/9 Prinee Flaneur 2, 2/2 Nolana 3. Scr.; Unseen, Merry Del Val. Won by two lengths; third horse Ti lengthB back. Time, 1.16 1-5.
