WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

At the monthly meeting of the Els-, thorpe Women's Institute, Mrs. C. Williams presided over a fair attendanco of members. During the afternoon a very intorosting demonstration of floral work was given by Miss McCorkindale, and at the conclusion she was accorded a hearty 'vote of thanks. An anonymous donor has presented n silver cup for the competitions for' the ensuing year, the gift being greatly eppreciated. The competitions for the afternoon resulted as follows: Knitted car'digan, Mrs; C. Nelson 1, Mrs. J. Sutherland 2, Mrs. W.'Watson, junr., 3. Three chrysanthemums, Mrs. E. Nuttall I and 2.
