Rev. S. B. R. Corbjn Going To Thames x

ORMONDVILLE, Last Night. At a well-attended meeting of the vestry on Friday night, a presentation of an electric table lamp was made to the vicar, the Rev. S". B. R. Corbin, who is leaving the parish to take up work at Thames. To Mrs Corbin was given a lovely crystal sweets "Hish. After the vicar had thanked the vestry fof the gift on behalf of himself and his wife, Mr E. Smith, in the unavoidable absence of tlie people' s vvarden, asked the vicar' s acceptance of a cheque as a small token of affection and esteem from the parishioners. Another member spoke of the vicar' s work amoug his people, and the difference his influence and friendship had made m many homes. Mr Corbin thanked t.liem for their words, which were an enepuragement to him, and for the gift from the people. He had made many friends in the time he had been in the parish, whom he should always remember and value. Despite the weather a number of people attended the services at Makotuku and Ormondville, and listened attentively to the vicar' s farewell serinons. Mr and Mrs Corbin left by car for Wellington, and later will go to Thames, where his induction to the Cure of St. George's parish will take place on Tuesday, May 25.
