Smart, made the suggestion last night that the by-laws might be altered so as to provide a flat rate of £1 10/- for burials on any day of the week instead of the /ruling charges of £1 7/6 for week-day burials and £1 15/- for Sunday burials. The council is to look inta the matter. Fifty-two plots are now available in a new area opened up at Waipukurau's old cemetery, where a vacant portion of land has been pegged out by the council.
