These emanated from the police broadcasting station, the primary purpose of which was to ppntrpl the vehicular traffip. The broadcaster aroused shouts of pretended disapproval when he declared: "Mr Joneg has lost Mrs WilJiame," The crowd sceptigally received the subsequent explanatipn that Mrs Williams was Mr Jones' mother-in-law. The broadcaster, after vainly pleading with pedeptrians to keep to the pavement,1 annQunced : ' 'Ladies and fentlemen^ the Circus is ypurs. There'l1 e uq niore traffic,"
