SERVICE TO INSTITUTES
At the recent eouncil meeting of North Taranaki Women's Institutes the long and faithful services of Mrs. W. Kaye were recognised and appreciation shown. Mrs. Kaye has been the organdser in Taranaki for eight years and president for five. Mr. and Mrs. Kaye were for several years resident of Hastings. Mrs. C. Williams, of Hawke's Bay, representing the Dominion executive, presented the gold honours badge to Mrs. Kaye, who was accorded musical honours. This is only the second time in the history of the movement cn the Dominion that this honour badge has been presented to a member, the first being to the founder of the institute in New Zealad, Miss Jerome Spencer, O.B.E. On behalf of the institutes Mrs. Clifford-Jones presented Mrs. Kaye with a handsome chimdng clock. She praised the pioneering work of the retiring president, stating that she had laid the foundation with foresight, taet and accuraey and that her place would be hard to fill. Mrs. Larcom, on behalf of the South Taranaki institutes, prised the untiring services of Mrs. Kye, stating that the trail "had been blazed in a most capable and thorough way and that all would miss her kind help and sympathetic understanding. Mrs. Kaye thanked the institutes for the confidence. loyalty and trust that had always been extended to her and hoped the same support would be extended to her succossor.
